In 2014, Rifle High School was officially recognized as an International Baccalaureate World School. Our program has significantly evolved over that time. Still, it remains an important pathway for RHS students because the IB philosophy closely aligns with the primary goals of our district and, by extension, of our community to produce graduates who are:

And that's because the IB Diploma program's central focus is the IB Learner Profile, which strives to help students grow as:

  • Inquirers
  • Knowledgeable Thinkers
  • Communicators
  • Principled
  • Open-minded
  • Caring
  • Risk-takers
  • Balanced
  • Reflective

The Re-2 Graduate Profile was created by Re-2 students, so its close alignment with the IB Learner Profile suggests that our students value the same qualities the IB values. Even more, IBDP academics are focused on rigorous thinking. In our most recent IB exit survey, 70% of surveyed students said they chose IB to challenge themselves, while 60% cited the learning potential.

Put simply, our students fit the IB, and the IB is a good fit for our students and community.
